Bangkok
- Getting Around Taxi
By
far the best way to get around town! However always
should insist that they use their meter! Some taxi
drivers will try to discuss a price, but you can
be sure they will always quote a higher price than
what you would pay on the meter!
In Bangkok,
an average trip will cost between 75 to 100 Th.Baht.
Some hotels might try to make you use their own
limousine. This is, of course, much more expensive!
Tuk-Tuk
In
Bangkok, you should try to take a taxi instead of
a Tuk-Tuk as some drivers may cheat you and take
you to a shop instead of your destination...
If you arrive
at a tailor shop instead of the place you said you
wanted to go - you've been scammed! Then the driver
will go into his speech about how he gets 'coupons'
to help pay for his fuel by taking people to shops.
However,
taking a Tuk-Tuk ride is something you have to do
at least once!
