Of Interest Chaksi
Reclining Buddha
This highly revered Buddha image is in Wat Phra
Non Chaksi on the edge of the main town. The Buddha
image itself is over 40 metres long and is open
daily to the public.
Monument
Of Heroes And Khai Bang Rachan Park
Khai Bang Rachan Park is highlighted by a monument
to the heroes of Bang Rachan. The figures on the
monument depict the villagers of Bang Rachan who
performed a unique event in Thai history. The opening
ceremony for this monument was performed by the
present monarch, King Rama IX.
During
the reign of King Ekkathat in 1765, whilst the village
came under heavy attack, the people of the village
held out for weeks and forced the enemy to attack
at least eight times before it finally fell.
The fortress seen in the park area is a replica
imitated from the ancient actual design.
Wat
Na Phrathat
This monastery, first called by the villagers "Wat
Hua Muang", houses a very old prang which is assumed
to have been built during the ancient Khmer's period.
Wat
Phikun Thong
Called "Wat Luang Pho Phae" by the villagers,
people from all directions like to come to this
monastery to pay homage to Luang Pho Phae. The main
attractions of this monastery are, Thailand's largest
sitting Buddha image, 'Phra Phuttha Suwan Mongkhon
Mahamuni' and Dharma Garden, a peaceful corner for
mind purification and meditation.
Inburi
National Museum
There are several exquisite archaeological
subjects here. King Rama V's palanquin, large shadow
play characters of Wat Prasuk, a green stone Buddha
Image, ancient sugar cane crushing machine and other
local pieces.
Near
the museum lies Wat Bot, an old monastery having
a most unusual style of construction. It used the
iron rails as the core of the lower part and the
entire Ubosot is of wooden work having superb carvings
on the door and window panels.

Sawang Arom
This monastery is a centre of a Buddha image sculpted
in a style which was handed down from Ban Chang
Lor school in Thonburi. The collection of Nang Yai,
a kind of shadow play at Wat Sawang Arom, is around
300 pieces and is the most complete in Thailand.
Wat
Phra Prang and Noi River Kiln Site
This beautiful old style temple contains a Prang
believed to have been constructed during the reign
of King Narai the Great. There is a hill topped
with a replica Buddha's footprint within the Prang.
In
addition, traces of 3 or 4 ancient kilns dating
back to Ayutthaya period had been found in a nearby
area. The kilns were used to produce various kinds
of pottery such as jars, bowls, mortars, pots, gable
tops and floor tiles.
