Of Interest Koh
Sichang
Koh Sichang island has a peaceful atmosphere
and fresh, clean air. The only transports available
are bicycles and motorized tricycles as the ring-road
around the island is only a little over one meter
wide.
The
centre-piece is the impressive royal palace built
by King Rama V featuring the two temples were also
constructed during his reign. The
Chinese Pavilion, with it's dragon and peacock designs,
is also worth a visit.
Sri
Racha
A seaside district 24 km from town. It used
to be one of the most popular resorts and still
attracts considerable number of tourists who make
frequent stops to buy sea food and fresh fruit,
particularly pine-apples.
Hat
Bangsaen
Only 10km from Chonburi town, this is a popular
haunt for both Thais and foreigners. Part of the
beach front area is set aside for venders of local
foods and snacks. Canvas chairs and inner tire tubes
are available for rent, as well as shower room facilities.
Ang
Hin
One of the oldest seaside vacation spots noted
for its products in stone mortars and weaving. Sam
Muk Hill is situated mid-way between Ang Hill and
the Bangsaen Beach. The Chao Mae Sam Muk Shrine
atop the hill is widely revered by the local people.
Ocean
World
Between Chionburi & Pattaya, this amusement
water park has many water sliders and roller coasters
- Great fun!
Scientific
Marine Centre
Operated by The Bangsaen Campus of the Sinakarinwirot
University, this marine aquarium shows varieties
of life in the sea. It is open daily from 08.30-16.00
hrs. on weekdays and 8.30-17.00 hrs. on public holidays.
Admission fee is 40Baht.
Nong
Mon
This is the central market 1km further on from
the entrance to Bangsaen. Here can be found all
types of fresh and fried sea food, local sweets
and fruits as well as fine rattan wares from local
villages.
Panat
Nikhom
A left turn almost right opposite the Nong
Mon market place leads to the 18-hole Bangphra Golf
International Co. Ltd. An international standard
public course, it offers accommodation facilities
as well as an excellent club house with tasty food.

The
Khao Khieo Open Zoo
Operated by the Dusit Soological Organization,
it covers an area of some 1200 acres, with more
than 50 species of wild life roaming freely in its
unfenced compound. Accommodation is also available
and can be reserved at the Dusit Zoo in Bangkok,

Nam
Tok Chan Ta Then
In the same direction as Khao Khieo Open Zoo,
this beautiful waterfall is in the Wild Life Conservation
area and enables swimming and leisurly walks. Placid
surrounding nature added to the area makes an even
more attractive and ideal spot for relaxation.
