Koh Samet
Without doubt Rayong's most famous attraction. Please see our dedicated Koh Samet section...

Rayong has a lot more to offer than just the ferry to Koh Samet, oh yes indeed my friends....

The King Taksin Shrine
Within the compound of Wat Lum Mahachai Chumpon, this shrine commemorates King Taksin's Thai army who liberated the province from Burmese occupation.

Highly revered by the local people, particularly those of Chinese ancestry and draws large worshipping crowds during the chinese New Year celebrations (February).

Wat Pa Pradu
A large reclining Buddha is located in the main chapel of this temple. The image reclines on its left instead of the traditional right!

The Rayong City Pillar
Highly respected by local people, the shrine housing the pillar was originally made of wood but has recently been reconstructed in brick and mortar.

The Phra Buddha Angkirot
The principal Buddha image of Rayong is enshrined in a Thai-style pavilion at Suan Si Muang, just behind the city hall.

Koh Saket
Only about 15 mins from the mainland, this small island is blessed with beautiful scenery, with long white beaches and crystal clear water. Snorkelling around the coral reeefs is spectacular, among the best in the whole country!

The Sobha Botanical Gardens
Numerous varieties of trees and plants, regarded as the best collection in Thailand. There are a number of antique objects and other objects dart on display in the houses.

Ban Pheand and Ban Khram
A tiny village where local products such as fish sauce, cuttle-fish, dried shrimp and shrimp paste, are made and sold. Just a little further from Ban Phe is the village of Ban Khram, the birthplace of Sunthon Phu. There is a beautiful kept memorial park where his house was sited.

The Suan Son Pine Park
Popular picnic spot with shaded rest areas, white clean sand and a number of seafood stalls and cafes.

Laem Mae Phim
This cape is ideal for swimming as the waves are not strong and the water is clean and clear. Lovely spot!

Koh Khi Pla
Just north of the cape which can sometimes be reached by walking as the tide goes down to the extent that a "road" appears!

Wat Saranat Thamaram
At the corners of this temple are replicas of four major Buddhist monuments, Phra Pathom Chedi, Phra That Panom, Buddha Gaya and Phra That Chaiya.

The Khao Cha-Mao National Park
The waterfall, "Namtok Khao Cha-Mao" has 8 levels and it's not too difficult to reach the top.

Tham Khao Wong (Caves)
About 80 large and small connecting chambers make up this network of tunnels and caves, all of which are richly decorated with natural stalactites and stalagmites. Accessibility during rainy season can be difficult along the road.

Koh Man
Consisting of three islands; Koh Man Nai, Koh Man Klang and Koh Man Nok, these islands are good for coral reef snorkelling and are currently being developed into Sea Turtle Preservation Sanctuary.

Ban Kon
Ao Ban Kon is a small fishing village with a long beautiful beach which stretches out to "Hat Mae Ramphung".
