Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta | Where To Stay | Beaches | Sports & Activities | How To Get Here

Up until about 3/4 years ago, Koh Lanta was virtually cut off from the mainland. But in recent times more and more accomodation and night spots have opened up to a steady stream of visitors and the island is now a fast growing southern resort.

Koh Lanta's two main beaches are Khlong Dao and Long Beach but there are also a few more quiet spots around the island, all with places to stay.

Sadly, Lanta has now started to fall victim to the tourist industry and is growing rapidly with more hotels and resorts every year but at the moment still remains fairly quiet.

Several travel shops offer boat trips around the island and there are a couple of excellent dive shops for both SCUBA and snorkelling tours.

The Lanta Orchid Farm makes a good day out and you can also take in some breathtaking nature treks. The main two beaches have a variety of local and foreign cuisine, all at reasonable prices as well as numerous bars and the odd karaoke place.
