Kwan Phayao
(Phayao Lake)
This huge natural lake with naturally clear and
clean water is over 10,000 rai and is a breeding
ground for fresh water fish. There are a lot of
food shops located along the bank suitable for dining
and relaxing in the evening.
King
Ngam Muang Monument
The monument was built to honour the memory
of King Ngam Muang,a former ruler of Phu Kam Yao.
It stands in the municipal public park in front
of Phayao Lake.
Wat
Si Khom Kham
Sitting on the banks of Phayao Lake, this temple
is called "Phra Chao Ton Luang" by the locals and
houses a principal Buddha image having the lap width
of 14 metres, 17 metres in height. An annual fair
takes place every May.
Doi
Chom Thong
A small hill on the bank of Phayao Lake where
there is a Buddhistic monk community known to the
villagers as "Phrathat Chom Thong".

Fishery Office
This is where the first successful cultivation of
giant catfish took place. The worlds biggest fresh
water fish can be found here in the Mae Khong River.
Various fish have been shown in an exhibition room
and the general area has been designed as a fresh
water animal park.
The
park gathers a great variety of water animals and
is open to the public from 9am-6pm.
Wat
Analayo
This small temple was built by a Thai monk who was
known as Phra Kru Phaioon. Designed in Sukhothai
style, a good view of Kwan Phayao and the town can
be seen from the top of the hill.

Kham Tai District
Besides being renowned for its beautiful women,
there is the Ban Tham Arboretum housing Phrathat
Chomsin Pagoda.

Thai
Lue Tribe of Chiang Kham and Chiang Muan
These tribal people originally resided in the territory
of Sib Song Panna before migrating into Thailand
several decades ago. Their beautiful and sophisticated
hand woven silk and cotton fabrics, sold in the
village, are attractive items for souvenirs.
