Of Interest Sila
Asna Bedstead
In Wat Phra Thaen Sila on a hilltop with a 60 metre
access path where a celebrating fair takes place
in the middle of the 3rd and 4th lunar months of
every year.
Sirikit
Dam
The barrier itself is almost 170m high and 12m wide.
Blocking the stream of Maenam Nan river, it was
built in 1963. The upstream part of the river has
now become a big lake with beautiful scenery suitable
for sightseeing.

Sak Yai
The largest teak tree in the world is here in the
park. Being well promoted by the Forestry department,
the surrounding area is peaceful and very quiet
and the tree itself is quite an awesome sight.

of Phraya Phichai Dap Hak
Phraya Phichai was a brave hero of Uttaradit, being
in combat alongside King Taksin the Great. He had
been assigned to rule Muang Phichai and promoted
to Phraya Siharai Dejo.
Uttaradit
folks have combined their efforts to construct his
monument at the Provincial Hall and it was inagurated
in 1969.

Cultural Centre
In the grounds of the Governor's Residence,
ancient artifacts can be seen. It is open for public
viewing and has many antiques on display.
Luang
Pho Phet
This provincial crossed-leg Sitting Buddha
image is housed in the Vihara of Wat Tha Thanon
right in the heart of Uttaradit City. Cast of bronze
in Chiang Saen period it has a lap width of 33 inches
with the height of 41 inches and is highly respected
by Uttaradit residents.

Phra Yun Buddha Bhat Yukhon
An ancient monastery with an old Mondop topped by
a five-piece roofing design. It has four abodes
on the highest peak with a Burmese tiered umbrella,
constructed by early Chiang Saen artisans which
is the only one in this style of architecture seen
in Thailand.

Boromthat
This chedi is otherwise called Phrathat Thung Yang,
being an ancient statutory place like Phra Yun Buddha
Bhat Yukhon.The original pagoda has been worn out.
The
present one was constructed 70 years ago to replace
the original one. This wat is located exactly in
the vicinity of Thung Yang Market, 5 km from the
township area.

Lap Lae
Renowned for its natural beauty, Teen-Jog design
hand woven fabric and brooms made of Tong Kong grass.
The locality is also remarkable with fruits like
Durian and Langsat which is very economic in price
during the peak season when the locals conduct a
fair contesting Langsats annually.
Nam
Phi Village
This tiny community is renowned for making iron
swords that do not rust. When approaching the village,
you will hear the iron sword hitting in every house.

Annually held, during the first part of September
on the open area in front of the provincial Hall.
This is one of the regions biggest fruit fairs.
