Of Interest Phra
That Si Song Pak
Sitting on the bank of Man River, it commemrates
the mutual cooperation between Krung Sri Ayutthaya
and Krung Sri Satana Kanahut (Vientiane). The structure
is about 30 metres high and annual celebrations
are attended by thousands of people.
Phu
Kradung National Park
Lush and fertile, the park it is the home of
many types of wildlife and being high above sea-level,
is ideal for cold climate plants and trees. Bungalows
and tents are provided by the Forestry Department
and reservations can be made to ensure an overnight

For
private accommodation, the April Camping Company
offers approximately 200-300 small bungalows each

Phu
Luang Wildlife Sanctuary
Phu Luang is a blend of tropical and cold climate
forest. Many wild animals live in the area and this
is a nature lovers paradise. Loei Aministration
and Service Office is the only place to get information
about the forest, how to get there, what to see

up point.
Phu
Rua National Park
Another majestic peak with a vast pine-covered
plateau on top. A cliff shaped like a Chinese bow
juts out over the mountain. There are buses leaving
from Loei daily.
The
entrance to the National Park is a walking distance
from the drop off point. There is lodging available
at the park but you must book beforehand so the

Kaeng
Kut Ku
In the middle of the Maekhong River at Chiang
Khan is a narrow but extremely swift current. Immersed
by the rushing water for countless years, the rocks
produce multi-coloured scenes of unique beauty.
Wat
Sri Khun Muang
To the North of the Chiang Khan this ancient
temple has walls made of glassy materials. The main
chapel is shaped like those more often found in
the North. The wall artwork depicts a religious
legend.
